Purchasing Manager

We are partnering with a well-established and growing UK manufacturer to recruit a Purchasing Manager. This is a high-impact role offering the opportunity to lead procurement across multiple product streams while playing a key role in the evolution of systems and processes.

You will lead a small, capable team and take ownership of procurement strategy and day-to-day purchasing operations across three distinct manufacturing streams.

The Role
Lead and develop a small purchasing team within a fast-paced manufacturing environment
Own end-to-end procurement across multiple product categories and supply chains
Develop and implement purchasing strategies aligned to business growth
Manage supplier relationships across UK and international markets
Negotiate pricing, contracts, and long-term agreements
Work closely with production and operations to support planning and delivery
Play a key role in the implementation and optimisation of a new MRP system
Improve current processes (currently Excel-led) to drive efficiency, visibility, and control
Identify opportunities for cost reduction, supplier optimisation, and continuous improvement

Candidate Profile
Proven experience in a Purchasing / Procurement Manager role within manufacturing
Experience working in environments transitioning from manual/Excel processes to ERP/MRP systems (highly desirable)
Strong leadership capability with experience managing or mentoring a team
Ability to operate both strategically and hands-on
Strong commercial acumen and negotiation skills
Comfortable working in a fast-paced, evolving environment
Experience with international sourcing is advantageous
