      <description>Location: South Yorkshire | Salary: &amp;pound;65000 - &amp;pound;75000/annum | Type: Permanent | Portfolio Procurement has been engaged by our leading South Yorkshire based client to recruit for a Purchasing Manager.       The role:   You will be responsible for managing both the current and future needs the Purchasing department.      You will be charged with:    Managing, supporting, and coaching of the team  Negotiation of all current and new purchasing contracts  Develop and maintain a supply base globally  Select new suppliers based on factors including cost and suitability/competence to supply  Re-tender of all current and new commodities  Align all material management processes       Skills and Experience    Previous Purchasing experience at a senior level to include a solid understanding of Steel, Fabrications and Machined commodities  Previous experience in managing a team  Ability to travel globally should the need arise  An understanding of lean manufacturing           51535DH      INDPRO        The Portfolio Group are acting on behalf of our client in recruiting for this position. &lt;/p</description>
