We re seeking a Purchasing Manager to lead a dynamic procurement team and drive strategic sourcing initiatives at our site in Shirebrook.About the RoleReporting to the Group Supply Chain and Procurement Director, you ll be responsible for ensuring the effective sourcing and expediting of all materials to support business operations. You ll play a key role in managing supplier relationships, negotiating contracts, and driving cost efficiencies across the supply chain.Key Responsibilities Lead the procurement of direct and indirect materials and services, with a focus on engineering/manufacturing categories. Manage and mentor the on-site procurement team, aligning with group strategy. Collaborate with internal stakeholders to source optimal products for projects. Negotiate contracts and establish framework/service level agreements. Build long-term supplier partnerships and improve performance. Monitor material markets to support cost management and inflation control. Implement cost-saving initiatives and report monthly progress. Work closely with engineering, production, and quality teams to resolve material issues. Manage inventory, reduce obsolete stock, and establish safety stock levels.
