Purchasing Assistant
A well-established, globally recognised organisation is seeking a Purchasing Assistant to support its Operations team on a 12-month fixed-term contract (maternity cover).Reporting to the Purchasing Manager, the Purchasing Assistant will support procurement activities to ensure materials and services are sourced efficiently, cost-effectively, and in line with operational requirements.Key ResponsibilitiesSource supplier quotations and support pricing negotiationsRaise and manage purchase orders and monitor deliveriesMaintain supplier relationships and manage the order bookSupport inventory control and stock accuracyLiaise with internal teams including Finance, Operations, Engineering, and LogisticsResolve delivery, quality, and invoice discrepanciesSupport cost-reduction and procurement improvement initiativesMaintain accurate procurement records and documentationProvide administrative support to the purchasing functionAbout YouYou will be organised, detail-focused, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.Essential:Minimum 2 years'' experience in a purchasing, procurement, or supply chain roleStrong attention to detail and organisational skillsExcellent communication and stakeholder coordination abilityIT literate with Excel or Google SheetsAbility to manage multiple priorities and deadlinesPackage and Benefits39-hour week with early 3pm finish on FridaysHybrid working (1 day from home)24 days holiday + bank holidaysOption to buy/sell annual leaveBirthday ..... full job details .....
