Location: Barnsley
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Purchasing & Stores Manager to join a leading manufacturer, supporting global supply chain operations at a state-of-the-art facility.
Key Responsibilities:

Lead and coach the purchasing team.

Manage a -10M+ supplier portfolio.

Negotiate contracts with suppliers.
-
Oversee internal logistics and stock control.
-
Develop and implement purchasing strategies.
-
Maintain a global supplier base with dual-source suppliers.
-
Monitor supplier performance through KPIs and scorecards.
-
Identify and implement cost-saving opportunities.
-
Ensure accurate inventory and stock control.
-
Support product development and supplier recovery.
-
Ensure compliance with ISO standards.
-
Manage slow-moving and obsolete stock.
Qualifications & Experience:
-
5+ years in senior purchasing or supply chain roles.
-
Experience purchasing steel, welded fabrications, and machined components.
-
Strong knowledge of MRP systems and stock control.
-
Proven contract negotiation skills and cost reduction experience.
-
Ability to travel globally for supplier management.
Desirable:
-
CIPS qualification (or working towards).
-
Experience with open-book costing.
Working Hours:
-
Monday to Thursday: 07:30 - 16:30
-
Friday: 07:30 - 13:30
