A welcoming SEN School in Reading is seeking a motivated Psychology Graduate Teaching Assistant to join their team as soon as possible. This is an excellent opportunity for a graduate who is considering a career in teaching, educational psychology, SEN, counselling or another child-focused profession.

As a Psychology Graduate Teaching Assistant, you will provide individual and small group support to pupils with a range of additional needs. You will work alongside experienced Teachers and SEN staff to help pupils access learning, develop confidence and overcome individual barriers.

The Psychology Graduate Teaching Assistant role will involve:

• Providing 1:1 and small group support
• Supporting pupils with ASD, ADHD, SEMH and learning difficulties
• Helping pupils develop positive learning and behavioural strategies
• Supporting emotional regulation and communication
• Building positive relationships with pupils
• Encouraging engagement and participation in lessons
• Assisting Teachers with classroom activities
• Creating a safe, calm and inclusive learning environment
• ASAP start
• Reading location with good public transport links

The school is looking for a Psychology Graduate Teaching Assistant who is enthusiastic, empathetic and keen to develop their practical experience with children and young people. Previous experience with SEN or education would be beneficial but is not essential where candidates can demonstrate relevant transferable skills.
