Proposals Co-ordinator

Are you a technically minded professional with experience in quotations, proposals or estimating?

We’re working with an established engineering business that is looking for a Proposals Co-ordinator (Technical) to join its Sales & Projects team.

This is a varied role sitting between engineering, sales and commercial activity, where you’ll be responsible for turning customer enquiries, drawings and technical specifications into accurate, competitive quotations.

You’ll work closely with Sales, Engineering, Procurement and Finance to make sure proposals are complete, commercially sound and delivered on time.

What will you be doing?

• Preparing and issuing accurate, competitive technical and commercial quotations in response to customer enquiries
• Reviewing engineering drawings, technical specifications and commercial requirements
• Coordinating with internal teams to gather the information required for accurate quotation preparation
• Managing and tracking the quotation pipeline, ensuring enquiries are followed up and closed out
• Liaising directly with customers to clarify requirements and respond to follow-up queries
• Monitoring quotation deadlines and prioritising workload in a fast-paced environment
• Ensuring bids and proposals comply with internal procedures, pricing approvals and document control requirements
• Maintaining accurate records of quotations, pricing history and customer communications
• Supporting the Sales and Account Management teams with professional and timely documentation
• Reviewing purchase orders and supporting the business in mitigating contractual and commercial risk
• Identifying opportunities to improve the quotation process and make it more efficient

What are we looking for?

You’ll ideally have a background that combines technical understanding with commercial awareness.

You should have:

• A good understanding of mechanical engineering principles
• The ability to interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications
• Previous experience preparing technical and commercial quotations
• Excellent attention to detail and strong organisational skills
• The ability to prioritise and manage multiple enquiries and deadlines
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Confidence communicating with both customers and internal stakeholders
• Good knowledge of Microsoft Office
