Are you a solution-driven surveyor with a passion for diagnosing and resolving complex property issues? Do you thrive in a role where your expertise directly improves the lives of residents and safeguards vital housing assets?
We''re looking for an experienced Property Surveyor to join a forward-thinking Property Directorate, taking the lead on challenging repairs, structural issues, and major defects. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a tangible impact while balancing compliance, quality, and value for money.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as the go-to expert for diagnosing and resolving complex property issues.

  • Manage a diverse caseload, including disrepair claims, damp and mould, insurance works, and specialist repairs.

  • Conduct thorough investigations using your knowledge of building pathology, HHSRS, and housing construction to diagnose and categorise issues effectively.

  • Offer technical advice and post-inspection guidance to colleagues, supporting service quality and consistency.

  • Contribute to ad hoc planned works and continual service improvement initiatives.

  • Review home improvement requests and ensure protection of housing stock.

  • Collaborate cross-functionally to enhance the resident experience and drive operational excellence.

What We''re Looking For:

  • Demonstrable experience resolving complex property repairs and maintenance issues.

  • Strong technical knowledge of building diagnostics, damp and mould, and the NHF Schedule of Rates.

  • Expertise in applying the HHSRS framework to identify Category 1 & 2 hazards.

  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain technical matters clearly to residents and non-technical colleagues.

  • A proactive, resident-first mindset with a passion for delivering high-quality, cost-effective repairs.

  • Experience working across both technical and operational teams.

Additional Requirements:

  • This role involves working with potentially vulnerable individuals. A basic DBS check will be completed prior to starting, and every three years thereafter.

  • A full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle for business use is essential.
