We''re looking for an experienced Property Surveyor to join a forward-thinking Property Directorate, taking the lead on challenging repairs, structural issues, and major defects. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a tangible impact while balancing compliance, quality, and value for money.
Key Responsibilities:
Act as the go-to expert for diagnosing and resolving complex property issues.
Manage a diverse caseload, including disrepair claims, damp and mould, insurance works, and specialist repairs.
Conduct thorough investigations using your knowledge of building pathology, HHSRS, and housing construction to diagnose and categorise issues effectively.
Offer technical advice and post-inspection guidance to colleagues, supporting service quality and consistency.
Contribute to ad hoc planned works and continual service improvement initiatives.
Review home improvement requests and ensure protection of housing stock.
Collaborate cross-functionally to enhance the resident experience and drive operational excellence.
What We''re Looking For:
Demonstrable experience resolving complex property repairs and maintenance issues.
Strong technical knowledge of building diagnostics, damp and mould, and the NHF Schedule of Rates.
Expertise in applying the HHSRS framework to identify Category 1 & 2 hazards.
Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain technical matters clearly to residents and non-technical colleagues.
A proactive, resident-first mindset with a passion for delivering high-quality, cost-effective repairs.
Experience working across both technical and operational teams.
Additional Requirements:
This role involves working with potentially vulnerable individuals. A basic DBS check will be completed prior to starting, and every three years thereafter.
A full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle for business use is essential.
