Property Caretaker

We are seeking a reliable and hands-on Caretaker to be responsible for the day-to-day management, upkeep and presentation of The Old Manor House, a historic and prestigious property in Fareham, Hampshire.

The Role

This is an ideal opportunity for someone who enjoys practical work, takes pride in maintaining exceptional standards and can work independently to ensure the property remains secure, well-presented and properly maintained.

Key Responsibilities

• General maintenance and repair of the property.
• Conducting routine inspections of the house, grounds and outbuildings.
• Completing minor repairs, decorating and DIY tasks.
• Grounds maintenance, gardening and upkeep of external areas.
• Ensuring the property remains secure and protected at all times.
• Liaising with and supervising external contractors.
• Monitoring utilities and reporting any issues.
• Assisting with planned maintenance and property improvement projects.
• Maintaining high presentation standards throughout the estate.
• Reporting regularly to BTG Eddisons and the property owner.

Requirements

• Previous experience in a Caretaker, Estate Worker, Maintenance Operative, Facilities Assistant or similar position.
• Strong practical maintenance and DIY skills.
• A proactive and self-motivated approach.
• Ability to identify and resolve maintenance issues.
• Excellent attention to detail.
• Trustworthy, professional and reliable.
• Good communication skills.
• Full UK Driving Licence preferred.
