Project Worker 2- Therapeutic Childrens Domestic Abuse Worker

Barnardo''s is seeking a Therapeutic Children''s Domestic Abuse Worker, in partnership with Women''s Aid charity The Haven Wolverhampton, to offer vital support to children and young people victims of domestic abuse living in the Wolverhampton community, with or without the perpetrator. Children were officially recognised by the British government as victims in their own right in the Domestic Abuse Act 2021. Barnardo''s and The Haven Wolverhampton stand with child victims of domestic abuse to ensure they are listened to and supported properly. We are seeking a passionate, motivated, and empathetic Therapeutic Children''s Domestic Abuse Worker who is committed to making a difference to young people who are vulnerable, disadvantaged, and victims of domestic abuse. Our worker will support children to navigate and recover from trauma and Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs), uphold trauma-informed practice, professional curiosity, and the safeguarding and protection of children as the priority in their work. The Therapeutic Children''s Domestic Abuse Worker will understand how childhood trauma can negatively impact child victims well into adulthood, while having a strong enthusiasm for offering positive guidance and efficient support to motivate change, acting as a professional role model and making an impact on real lives.
