Project Quantity Surveyor – Permanent Position 

• Position: Project Quantity Surveyor

We’re looking for an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join a busy main contractor  and support an exciting building project. This is a permanent role offering long-term career progression within a company that genuinely values professional development and internal growth on a £20 million D&B scheme in Brighton. 

What will you be doing 

• As a Quantity Surveyor, you’ll be responsible for managing the commercial aspects of the project from pre-construction through to final account. You’ll play a key role in ensuring projects are delivered within budget while maintaining high standards and strong client relationships, whilst also reporting into the Senior Surveyor. 

Key Responsibilities 

• Managing project costs through to final accounts 

• Preparing cost plans, valuations, and financial reports 

• Procurement and negotiation of subcontractor packages 

• Managing subcontractor payments and variations 

• Monitoring project budgets and forecasting costs 

• Identifying, managing, and mitigating commercial risks 

• Handling change control and contract administration 

• Liaising with clients, site teams, and senior management 

• Ensuring projects remain commercially viable and profitable 

What are they looking for 

• Degree or equivalent qualification in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline 

• Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor within building & construction 

• Strong knowledge of construction contracts  

• Excellent negotiation and financial management skills 

• Strong communication and organisational abilities 

• UK Driver’s License
