If you’re passionate about shaping the future of digital retail and want to grow with a forward-thinking, global team, Poq is the place for you.About the role - Project Services ManagerReporting directly to our VP of Professional Services, the Project Services Manager plays a pivotal role in balancing hands-on project delivery with leadership of our Project Management team. You will be managing your own projects and providing line management, guidance, and escalation support for the wider PM function.As a key partner to the VP of Professional Services, you will support strategic initiatives such as process improvement, resourcing and forecasting, ensuring that our Professional Services function operates efficiently and consistently delivers for our clients. This is a step beyond project management - it combines delivery expertise, people leadership, and operational oversight.What you’ll be doingProject Delivery and OversightLead the delivery of your own projects, ensuring they are delivered on time, within scope, and to budget.Provide escalation support to Project Managers, stepping in to resolve challenges, smooth client relationships, and ensure delivery standards are maintained.Monitor the health of projects across the portfolio, proactively identifying risks, issues, or resourcing gaps.Partner with internal teams (Product, Engineering, QA) and external third parties to keep projects on track.Portfolio, Resourcing and ForecastingSupport the VP of Professional Services with resourcing and portfolio forecasting.Ensure projects are allocated resources effectively and workloads are balanced across the team.Monitor capacity, utilisation, and upcoming demand, flagging potential bottlenecks early.Contribute to portfolio-level reporting, including project status, budgets, and resourcing.Team Leadership and DevelopmentLine manage the Project Management team, acting as the first point of escalation for project issues.Mentor, coach, and develop PMs to improve their delivery skills and stakeholder management.Support the hiring, onboarding, and training of new PM team members.Foster a culture of collaboration, knowledge sharing, and continuous improvement within the team.Process and Continuous ImprovementPartner with the VP of Professional Services to design, improve, and embed PM standards, processes, and frameworks.Champion best practices in project and portfolio management across the Professional Services function.Capture lessons learned from projects and ensure they are fed back into future ways of working.Drive consistency in governance, reporting, and client communication.What we’re looking forExperience:Hands-on project management experience, ideally in a SaaS environment.Proven line management experience with Project Managers or similar roles.Strong background in project and portfolio management, including resource allocation and forecastingExperience in the ecommerce or retail sector, with an interest in mobile technology.Demonstrated ability to support multiple clients across different time zones (including US and Australia).Experience working with in-house developers and third-party suppliers.Solid understanding of both Agile and Waterfall methodologies, with the ability to apply the right approach.Exposure to common web architectures and integration methods.Skills and Attributes:Commercially astute, able to balance client needs with business priorities.Resilient and adaptable, with the ability to remain calm under pressure.Strong communicator and relationship builder, both with clients and internal teams.Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.Proactive problem-solver who can “sniff out” issues early and resolve them effectively.Confident with project management tools such as Jira, MS Project, or similar.Why Join us?At Poq, you won’t just deliver projects - you’ll shape how global retailers connect with their customers through mobile technology.
