Project Monitoring Surveyor
The Opportunity
My client is a leading consultancy with an established reputation in project monitoring, development advisory and construction consultancy services. Due to continued growth, they are looking to recruit an ambitious MRICS-qualified Surveyor in Manchester to support the delivery of monitoring instructions for a broad range of development projects across the North West, wider UK and internationally.
Working with banks, alternative lenders, investors and funders, you will provide independent project monitoring and risk management services throughout the construction lifecycle. This role offers exposure to a diverse portfolio of residential, industrial, commercial, mixed-use and student accommodation developments.
Key Responsibilities
- Undertake project monitoring commissions across a range of development sectors.
- Review development appraisals, project budgets, procurement strategies and construction programmes.
- Assess development and construction risks on behalf of funding institutions.
- Produce initial due diligence reports and ongoing monitoring reports.
- Carry out regular site inspections and assess project progress against programme, cost and quality targets.
- Review drawdown requests and provide recommendations to lenders.
- Monitor project cash flow, cost variations and contingency allowances.
- Liaise with developers, contractors, project managers, funders and wider professional teams.
- Support senior colleagues on complex monitoring instructions.
- Contribute to client relationship management and business development activities.
- MRICS qualified.
- Degree in Quantity Surveying, Building Surveying, Construction Management, Project Management or a related discipline.
- Strong understanding of construction processes, procurement methods and project delivery.
- Excellent analytical and report writing skills.
- Commercially aware with strong attention to detail.
- Full UK driving licence.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities.
- Salary up to £60,000 plus car allowance and full benefits package.
- Hybrid working (3 days a week in office).
