Are you an experienced Project Manager with an water engineering background looking for your next challenge in the water sector?
Our client, a leading contractor within the water industry, is seeking a Project Manager to deliver specialist above-ground pipeline projects across the Thames Water region. These schemes primarily involve bridge-mounted pipelines, where water mains are installed across rivers and other structures. The role involves delivering technically challenging projects, carrying out site assessments, managing security requirements, and ensuring works are completed safely, on time and to the required quality standards.
This is an excellent opportunity for a Project Manager with a civil engineering, structural or utilities background who enjoys delivering technically challenging infrastructure projects. The role will begin on a contract basis, with a genuine opportunity to move into a permanent position for the right individual.
About the Role
As Project Manager, you will be responsible for managing the delivery of above-ground pipeline and bridge crossing projects across the Thames Water network.
You will oversee projects from planning through to completion, ensuring works are delivered safely, on programme and within budget. The role combines engineering knowledge with project management, including programme delivery, subcontractor management, stakeholder engagement and ensuring all health, safety, environmental and security requirements are met.
This position offers hybrid working, with time split between site, home and project meetings.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the delivery of above-ground pipeline and bridge crossing projects across the Thames Water region.
- Coordinate site teams, subcontractors and specialist suppliers to ensure safe and efficient project delivery.
- Plan and manage project programmes, resources and site logistics.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, environmental and quality standards.
- Maintain project documentation including RAMS, permits, inspections and progress reports.
- Liaise with the client, local authorities, landowners and other stakeholders throughout project delivery.
- Monitor project progress, identify risks and implement mitigation measures where required.
- Manage project costs, reporting and commercial performance.
Skills, Experience and Knowledge
- Proven experience as a Project Manager delivering civil engineering, water, utilities or infrastructure projects.
- Engineering background, ideally within civil engineering, structural engineering or utilities.
- Experience delivering pipeline, bridge, structural or heavy civil engineering projects.
- Strong understanding of project planning, programme management and site delivery.
- Experience managing subcontractors and multiple stakeholders.
- Knowledge of NEC contracts is advantageous.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills.
