The Opportunity

Our client is an established fit-out and refurbishment contractor delivering projects across London and the South. Due to continued growth and a strong pipeline of work, they are looking to appoint an experienced Project Manager to oversee a range of projects across the region.

This is a roaming Project Manager position, with responsibility for managing projects from pre-start through to completion, ensuring they are delivered safely, commercially and to a high standard.

The role would suit a Project Manager with a trade or construction delivery background who is comfortable working across multiple sites and managing projects within secure/public-sector environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Take overall responsibility for the successful delivery of fit-out and refurbishment projects.
• Manage projects from pre-start through to practical completion and handover.
• Plan and coordinate site activities, labour, materials and subcontractors.
• Manage and coordinate subcontractors, suppliers and site teams.
• Develop and manage programmes, logistics plans and short-term works schedules.
• Ensure projects are delivered to agreed programme, budget and quality standards.
• Monitor project costs, variations, procurement and commercial performance.
• Review drawings, specifications and construction information to identify issues and opportunities.
• Coordinate with clients, consultants, design teams and project stakeholders.
• Lead progress meetings and provide regular project updates.
• Manage project risks, issues and changes throughout the build.
• Ensure all works comply with health & safety, quality and environmental requirements.
• Maintain accurate project records, including site reports, programmes, progress updates and documentation.
• Oversee snagging, commissioning and the final handover to the client.
• Build strong relationships with clients and ensure a high level of customer satisfaction.

Experience Required

• Proven experience as a Project Manager within fit-out and/or refurbishment.
• Strong understanding of construction methodology and project delivery.
• A trade background would be highly advantageous.
• Experience managing subcontractors, suppliers and site teams.
• Strong programme, commercial and project management skills.
• Confident working directly with clients and consultants.
• Ability to manage multiple projects/sites across London and the South.
• Experience within public-sector, government or secure environments would be advantageous.

Security Clearance

• Existing Security Clearance would be ideal.
• However, our client is able to enrol the right candidate into the relevant clearance process, so this should not prevent an application.
