MERITUS are recruiting for an Engineering Project Manager to join our client within the defence and engineering sector on a 12-month contract from their site in Portsmouth. This role requires candidates to hold active SC Clearance and be a British National.

ENGINEERING PROJECT MANAGER - INSIDE IR35 - UP TO -50.84 PER HOUR - PORTSMOUTH - 12 MONTHS - SC CLEARED - PROJECT DELIVERY - TWO STAGE INTERVIEW PROCESS - SECTOR: DEFENCE

This position operates on a standard 37-hour week across 4.5 days, working between 07:00 and 19:00 subject to business requirements. Potential travel may be required depending on project requirements.

As an Engineering Project Manager, you will be responsible for leading multidisciplinary engineering project teams to deliver projects on quality, on time and on cost. Working closely with customers, engineering teams and business stakeholders, you will oversee the full project lifecycle, ensuring successful delivery whilst maintaining compliance with company procedures, governance and health & safety requirements.

You will manage project planning, stakeholder engagement, risk management, scheduling, budgeting and performance reporting whilst acting as the primary interface for both internal and external stakeholders. This role requires a confident project leader with strong communication skills and the ability to drive delivery across complex engineering programmes.

Skillset/experience required:

  • Previous experience delivering complex engineering or technical projects
  • Strong project management experience across the full project lifecycle
  • Experience leading multidisciplinary project teams
  • Ability to develop project plans, schedules, resource plans and work breakdown structures
  • Strong stakeholder and customer management skills
  • Experience managing project budgets, costs and financial reporting
  • Knowledge of project risk management and mitigation planning
  • Experience maintaining project schedules and resource forecasts
  • Ability to manage project change and negotiate project impacts
  • Strong communication, reporting and presentation skills
  • Experience producing project status reports and managing governance activities
  • Knowledge of project quality management and continuous improvement principles
  • Understanding of PMO, PMBOK or structured project delivery methodologies
  • Aerospace, defence or highly regulated industry experience would be advantageous
  • Active SC Clearance is required
