Project Manager Wanted

-50.00 per hour - Inside IR35 - Via Umbrella

Job Purpose

To lead the planning, development, and delivery of highways and transportation projects across the authority, ensuring schemes are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and in line with statutory requirements and corporate priorities.

The postholder will oversee a portfolio of infrastructure projects, including highways improvements, sustainable travel initiatives, active travel schemes, and traffic management programmes.



Key Responsibilities



Project & Programme Management

  • Lead the end-to-end delivery of highways and transportation projects from feasibility through to implementation and close-out
  • Develop project scopes, business cases, and delivery plans aligned with strategic transport objectives
  • Manage project budgets, funding streams (including DfT grants), and financial reporting
  • Monitor progress, risks, and issues, implementing mitigation strategies where required
  • Ensure compliance with relevant legislation, standards, and guidance (e.g., Highways Act, Traffic Management Act, CDM Regulations)

Working hours:

  • 37-40 hours a week
  • Monday to Friday
  • Weekly Pay
