Project Manager

Overview

We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to oversee a residential development in Burgess Hill, comprising a mix of timber frame housing and a traditional build tower block. This is a long-term opportunity for a hands-on professional with a strong background in traditional construction methods and multi-unit residential delivery.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the delivery of a mixed residential scheme including timber frame houses and a traditional RC / masonry tower block
• Manage projects from pre-construction through to completion and handover
• Oversee site teams including Site Managers, Engineers, and subcontractors
• Ensure works are delivered in line with programme, budget, and quality expectations
• Coordinate with design, commercial, and client teams to drive project progress
• Monitor and manage subcontractor performance and site productivity
• Maintain high standards of health & safety compliance and site operations
• Attend and lead client meetings, progress reviews, and reporting
• Identify risks and implement mitigation strategies

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Project Manager on residential developments
• Strong background in traditional build construction (essential)
• Experience delivering multi-storey / tower block projects
• Exposure to timber frame housing (preferred)
• Ability to manage multiple workstreams and site teams simultaneously
• Strong leadership, communication, and organisational skills
• Good understanding of UK building regulations and construction processes

Qualifications

• SMSTS
• CSCS (Black Card or equivalent)
• First Aid (preferred)
• Relevant construction qualification (HNC / Degree or equivalent)
