The job description below outlines the position of Project Manager.
Typically, this person will be responsible for managing the full project lifecycle across a varied portfolio of critical power and electrical installation projects, from project initiation through to completion and commissioning.
The successful candidate will manage a mixture of large-scale projects, medium-sized installations and smaller remedial works. Project durations can range from approximately 6 weeks to 6 months, with engineering activity ranging from 2 days to 12 weeks depending on project complexity, supplier lead times and customer requirements.
 
This is an office-based role within a Projects and Design team, working closely with Installation Engineers, customers, suppliers and internal stakeholders to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget and to the required specification.
 
Duties and Responsibilities of the Project Manager

• Coordinate and manage all aspects of project delivery from initiation through to completion and closure.
• Create detailed project plans and manage project resources effectively.
• Monitor project progress to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget and in accordance with contract specifications.
• Manage multiple projects concurrently, including large-scale installations, medium-sized projects and smaller remedial works.
• Work closely with Installation Engineers to ensure projects are delivered to agreed deadlines and required standards.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and supply chain partners to achieve project objectives.
• Proactively identify, manage and address project risks.
• Lead health, safety and environmental compliance across project activities.
• Build and maintain strong working relationships with clients, suppliers and internal stakeholders.
• Manage projects from initial quotation through to installation, commissioning and completion.
• Coordinate supplier lead times, engineering requirements and customer expectations.
• Monitor project schedules and ensure key milestones are achieved.
• Ensure project documentation and contractual requirements are maintained throughout the project lifecycle.
• Manage changing priorities across a varied project portfolio.
• Provide effective communication and updates to customers and internal stakeholders.
• Play an integral role within the business, using project management and engineering knowledge throughout the full project lifecycle.

• Proven experience working within Project Management.
• Ideally, experience within an engineering, industrial installation or technical environment.
• Experience managing multiple concurrent projects.
• Ability to manage a mixture of large-scale projects, installations and smaller remedial works.
• Strong organisational and time-management skills.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to build strong relationships with customers, suppliers and internal teams.
• Proactive approach to problem-solving.
• Ability to prioritise tasks and manage a varied workload within a fast-paced environment.
• Strong understanding of project delivery from initiation through to completion.
• Ability to manage project risks, resources, budgets and deadlines.
• Full UK driving licence preferred due to occasional travel requirements.

• Previous experience within critical power, electrical installation, generators, UPS systems or similar technical industries.
• Engineering or industrial installation background.
• Experience managing projects from quotation through to commissioning.
• Experience managing projects with engineering teams and installation engineers.
• Experience working with supply chain partners and technical suppliers.
• Industry-recognised Project Management qualification.
• Experience managing projects ranging from approximately 6 weeks to 6 months.
• Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously.
• Previous experience working within a customer-facing project environment.
