Project Manager
Overview
Expleo is seeking an experienced Project Manager to support the delivery of a nationwide fleet Audio Visual (AV) equipment deployment programme. This role is focused on coordinating the installation of AV equipment across multiple bus depots and operational locations throughout the UK. The successful candidate will work closely with engineering, operational, depot management and third-party installation teams to ensure a structured, efficient and timely rollout. The Project Manager will be responsible for removing deployment barriers, ensuring vehicle availability, managing installation schedules and facilitating a smooth transition into operational support. he role will involve regular travel to depots and operational sites.
Responsibilities
Develop and manage deployment schedules across multiple sites and regions.
Coordinate rollout activities with the installation provider and key business stakeholders.
Track project progress, risks, issues and dependencies.
Ensure deployment milestones are achieved within agreed timelines.
Provide regular status updates and reporting to programme stakeholders.
Act as the primary point of contact between engineering teams, operational teams, depot management and third-party suppliers.
Facilitate deployment planning meetings and site readiness reviews.
Ensure clear communication of installation schedules and deployment activities.
Escalate and manage issues impacting deployment timelines.
Work with garage and depot teams to plan installation activities.
Coordinate the availability of buses to support installation schedules.
Identify and remove operational blockers affecting deployment progress.
Support regional deployment activities and provide on-site coordination where required.
Work closely with the AV installation provider to ensure deployment plans are achievable and effectively executed.
Monitor installation performance and adherence to agreed schedules.
Ensure deployment quality standards are maintained.
Support the handover of completed installations into BAU operational support.
Ensure appropriate support structures and processes are established.
Facilitate knowledge transfer between deployment and support teams.
Qualifications
- Project/programme management certifications (PRINCE2, APM, MSP, PMP, etc.).
Essential skills
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Ability to work across engineering, operational and business functions.
- Strong risk, issue and dependency management capabilities.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced operational environment.
- Willingness to travel extensively across the UK.
Desired skills
- Knowledge of depot operations and vehicle maintenance environments.
Experience
- Strong project planning and scheduling experience.
- Experience coordinating multiple suppliers and delivery teams.
- Experience managing field-based or geographically dispersed delivery programmes.
- Experience within transportation, fleet, automotive or public transport environments.
- Experience delivering hardware, infrastructure or field installation programmes.
- Previous experience managing Audio Visual, telematics or onboard technology deployments.
- Proven experience delivering large-scale deployment or rollout projects.
