Location: Portsmouth hybrid (3 days per week onsite)

Rate: Around -700 per day via umbrella

We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to act as a direct embed within a critical programme team. This role will be instrumental in supporting the successful delivery of a complex programme focused on the integration and deployment of autonomous and uncrewed systems capabilities.

Working closely with stakeholders, suppliers, technical teams and programme leadership, you will coordinate project delivery activities, manage schedules and dependencies, and ensure effective stakeholder engagement across multiple workstreams.

Key Responsibilities

• Work collaboratively with the internal and external stakeholders to develop installation and deployment plans for UxV (Uncrewed Vehicle) capabilities.
• Coordinate development of high-level ITEAP documentation and associated programme artefacts.
• Provide project management support across system and systems-of-systems activities relating to autonomy and associated technologies.
• Develop, maintain and track detailed project plans, schedules, milestones and dependencies.
• Manage project risks, issues, assumptions and dependencies, ensuring appropriate mitigation and escalation.
• Coordinate activities across multiple suppliers and delivery partners to ensure successful programme execution.
• Facilitate governance forums, workshops and stakeholder meetings.
• Produce clear project reporting, progress updates and management information for senior stakeholders.
• Ensure alignment between technical, operational and programme delivery teams.
• Support programme planning, resource coordination and delivery assurance activities.

Key Skills & Experience

Essential

• Proven experience delivering projects within complex engineering, defence, maritime, aerospace or technology environments.
• Strong project planning and scheduling skills.
• Experience managing multiple stakeholders across client, supplier and technical teams.
• Demonstrable ability to coordinate and manage third-party suppliers and delivery partners.
• Experience producing and maintaining project documentation, reports and governance materials.
• Strong risk, issue and dependency management experience.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary programme environment.

Desirable

• Experience working within Defence, MOD, Royal Navy or Government programmes.
• Knowledge of autonomous systems, UxVs or systems integration projects.
• Experience supporting Systems Engineering or Systems of Systems delivery activities.
• Familiarity with programme governance frameworks and assurance processes.
• Project Management qualification such as PRINCE2, APM PMQ or PMP.
