Project Manager

We are seeking a highly organised and experienced Project Manager with an engineering background to lead complex projects from concept to completion at our client’s site in Stockport. With at least 5 years’ experience managing technical projects, this role provides the opportunity for a Project Manager to lead multi-functional teams and handle multiple priorities in a fast paced environment, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. The position also requires familiarity with budgeting, cost estimation, and financial tracking, while maintaining compliance with engineering standards, safety regulations, and quality assurance protocols.
Hours: Monday to Friday, no weekend working, Salary upto £50,000
Key Responsibilities:
- Take ownership of projects as the Project Manager, managing delivery to scope, schedule, and budget requirements.
- Coordinate internal teams and external partners to ensure smooth project execution.
- Identify project risks, challenges, and dependencies, implementing mitigation strategies.
- Maintain and update detailed project plans, schedules, and resource allocations.
- Facilitate effective communication with stakeholders, senior management, and cross-functional teams.
- Monitor project performance, track progress against KPIs, and provide regular updates as the Project Manager overseeing the project portfolio.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives and optimise workflows.
- Define project objectives, deliverables, and success criteria collaboratively with stakeholders.
- Ensure all projects comply with engineering standards, health and safety regulations, and quality assurance protocols.
Requirements:
- Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, or related) or equivalent on the job experience.
- Minimum 5 years’ experience managing technical or complex projects.
- PMP certification or Prince2 qualification is advantageous.
- Proven track record of successfully delivering multi-disciplinary projects.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent leadership and team management abilities, motivating multi-functional teams.
- Skilled communicator, able to engage effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
- Proactive, results focused, and solution oriented.
- Experienced with project management tools such as MS Project, Jira, or Asana.
- Knowledge of budgeting, cost estimation, and financial reporting.
- Excellent numerical ability and strong attention to detail.
