Summary

Candidates in this role are responsible for leading the successful delivery of complex infrastructure projects, ensuring they are completed safely, on time, within budget, and to high quality standards. They manage and coordinate site teams, suppliers, and stakeholders, fostering a collaborative and safety-focused culture. Daily activities include planning, monitoring progress, managing risks, engaging with clients and communities, and ensuring compliance with contractual and safety standards. They also oversee financial performance, resource management, and project closeout processes.

Skills
  • Strong leadership and team management abilities
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
  • In-depth knowledge of construction processes and disciplines (groundworks, RC structures, steelwork, etc.)
  • Experience working within a Rail or infrastructure environment
  • Contract management knowledge (NEC, ICE, etc.)
  • Safety management and compliance (SMSTS, CSCS, PTS)
  • Financial acumen for budgeting, forecasting, and cost control
  • Risk management and problem-solving skills
  • Proficiency in project planning and programming tools
  • IT literacy, including reporting and documentation systems
  • Experience of personal responsibility in managing projects or project sections up to £10
    million
