Project Manager Construction Consultancy
A well-established multidisciplinary construction consultancy in Birmingham is looking for a Project Manager with NHS or NEC experience to join its growing team. This is an excellent opportunity for a Project Manager to initially work on a major national telecommunications account before gaining exposure to a much wider portfolio across 14 different sectors.
The Project Manager will join a Birmingham team of 16, including nine Project Managers and the Project Management Partner. This Project Manager role would suit a capable Project Manager who is confident working with complex stakeholders and has either healthcare/NHS experience or strong NEC contract knowledge. The successful Project Manager will benefit from working within an experienced team while having the opportunity to diversify into a broad range of sectors as their role develops.
You must have prior construction consultancy experience to be considered for this role.
The Project Manager''s role
The Project Manager will initially support a major telecommunications client account, managing projects through pre-contract and delivery stages.
The Project Manager will be responsible for programme management, consultant coordination, procurement, risk management, change control, project reporting, stakeholder engagement, and contractor liaison.
The Project Manager will chair meetings, monitor project performance, coordinate multidisciplinary teams, and provide clear advice to clients throughout the project lifecycle.
As the Project Manager becomes established within the business, there will be opportunities to move across the consultancy''s wider portfolio of 14 sectors, helping to build a broad and varied project management career.
The Project Manager
The successful Project Manager will have:
- Prior experience working within a construction consultancy
- NHS/healthcare experience and/or strong NEC contract experience
- Experience delivering projects through pre-contract and construction stages
- A degree in Project Management, Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, Building Surveying, or a related discipline
- MRICS, MAPM, MCIOB, or progress towards a relevant professional qualification
- Strong programme, risk, and change management skills
- Excellent client-facing and stakeholder management abilities
- Experience coordinating multidisciplinary consultant teams
- A proactive, professional, and commercially aware approach
