Project Manager Construction Consultancy
A well-established construction consultancy in Birmingham is seeking an experienced Project Manager to join its growing team. The successful Project Manager will deliver residential, mixed-use, education, public-sector and commercial developments across Birmingham and the wider Midlands. This is an excellent opportunity for a Project Manager looking to manage varied projects within a supportive consultancy environment.
The Project Manager will take responsibility for smaller and medium-sized commissions while supporting senior colleagues on larger, more complex developments. Acting as a key client contact, the Project Manager will coordinate project teams, manage programmes and maintain control of risk, quality and project reporting. The role would suit a confident Project Manager who can work across several sectors and build strong relationships with clients and consultants.
You must have prior construction consultancy experience to be considered for this role.
The Project Manager''s role
The Project Manager will oversee projects from initial feasibility and briefing through to construction, handover and completion.
Responsibilities will include preparing project programmes, coordinating multidisciplinary design teams, managing risk and change, and monitoring progress against agreed timescales and quality standards. The Project Manager will chair client and project meetings, maintain action trackers, prepare progress reports and support procurement activities.
The successful candidate will work across residential, mixed-use, education, public-sector, commercial and office projects. They will liaise with clients, contractors and consultants, ensuring that decisions are recorded and project issues are resolved efficiently.
The Project Manager
The successful Project Manager will have:
- Previous project management experience within a construction consultancy
- Experience delivering residential, mixed-use, education, public-sector or commercial projects
- A degree in Project Management, Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, Building Surveying or a related construction discipline
- MRICS, MAPM, MCIOB or progress towards a relevant professional qualification
- A good understanding of procurement, construction contracts and the project lifecycle
- Strong communication, organisation and client-facing skills
- The ability to manage multiple projects and competing priorities
- A proactive and commercially aware approach
