We are currently recruiting for an experienced Project Manager to join an established and well-regarded civil engineering and construction contractor, working on a range of projects across the North East of Scotland.

This is an excellent opportunity for a Project Manager with a strong background in civil engineering, infrastructure or construction to take responsibility for the successful delivery of projects from pre-construction through to completion.

The successful candidate will work closely with clients, subcontractors, site teams and senior management to ensure projects are delivered safely, commercially and to programme.

• Take overall responsibility for the successful delivery of projects from inception through to completion.

• Manage project programmes, budgets, resources and delivery strategies.

• Lead and support Site Managers, Engineers and wider project teams.

• Ensure projects are delivered in line with health, safety, quality and environmental requirements.

• Manage client relationships and act as the main point of contact throughout project delivery.

• Monitor project performance, costs, progress and commercial performance.

• Coordinate subcontractors, suppliers and specialist contractors.

• Review and manage project programmes, identifying potential delays and implementing corrective actions.

• Ensure all necessary project documentation, RAMS, permits and quality requirements are in place.

• Attend regular client and internal project meetings.

• Manage variations, change control and contractual requirements.

• Identify and manage project risks throughout the lifecycle of each project.

• Work closely with the commercial team to ensure financial targets are achieved.

• Ensure projects are completed to the required quality standards and within agreed timescales.

• Support the development of junior members of the project and site teams.

The ideal candidate will have:

• Proven experience working as a Project Manager within civil engineering or construction.

• Experience delivering projects from start to finish.

• Strong knowledge of project management, programming and commercial control.

• Experience managing site-based teams and subcontractors.

• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

• A strong understanding of health and safety requirements within construction.

• The ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver against challenging programmes.

• A commercially aware and organised approach.

• Relevant industry qualifications such as HNC/HND, Degree, SMSTS, CSCS or equivalent.

• Experience working on infrastructure, utilities, roads, earthworks or similar civil engineering projects would be advantageous.
