Freelance Project Manager - Civil EngineeringLocation: CumbriaRate: £550-£600 per dayContract: Freelance / ContractDuration: Six weeks initially, with potential follow on projectsStart date: OctoberHours: Monday to Friday, 7:00am-7:00pmAn experienced freelance Project Manager is required to lead the delivery of a specialist heavy civil engineering package in Cumbria.The initial project involves shaft construction using a caisson method. Further shaft, tunnelling and civil engineering packages are expected to follow, creating the potential for continued work beyond the initial six week programme.This is a senior, site based position with full responsibility for the delivery of the package from mobilisation through to completion. The Project Manager will lead a team comprising a Senior General Foreman, commercial support and approximately five or six site operatives.Project Manager responsibilities Take full responsibility for the safe and successful delivery of the civil engineering package.Manage the project from mobilisation through to completion and handover.Develop and maintain the construction programme.Manage progress, productivity, resources and short term planning.Lead the Senior General Foreman, site operatives and subcontractors.Coordinate temporary works and design related activities.Manage communication with the client and other project stakeholders.Attend and lead project progress meetings.Coordinate with the commercial team regarding costs, variations and ..... full job details .....
