What Are We Looking For?

Due to continued growth, WES, part of the RSE Group, is looking for a Project Engineer to join us on a permanent basis in Pontyclun. This role will provide technical engineering support throughout the project lifecycle, working closely with the Project Management, Design, Procurement, Workshop and Site teams to ensure chemical dosing systems are engineered, manufactured, installed and commissioned in accordance with client specifications, project requirements and WES standards. The Project Engineer will coordinate technical information, support equipment selection and procurement, and help resolve engineering queries to ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently and to the required quality standards.

Some of Your Key Duties Include:

  • Review project requirements, WES proposals, client specifications and technical documentation to ensure a clear understanding of the engineering scope and performance requirements.
  • Coordinate and review project design information, equipment schedules, P&ID’s, layouts, calculations, datasheets and other technical documentation to ensure suitability for project requirements.
  • Provide technical support to Project Managers throughout the project lifecycle, identifying engineering requirements, constraints and potential risks.
  • Support the specification, selection and procurement of materials & equipment, ensuring an appropriate balance of technical performance, cost, quality and programme requirements.
  • Prepare and coordinate technical documentation and information to allow workshop manufacture / assembly of projects to be efficient & effective.
  • Liaise with suppliers and manufacturers to obtain technical information, resolve queries and ensure equipment is suitable for the intended application.
  • Support technical reviews with customers, WES stakeholders and project teams, ensuring actions and engineering queries are recorded and progressed.
  • Assist with the planning & preparation of documents & information to allow site installation activities to be undertaken efficiently & effectively.
  • Provide technical support during installation, testing and commissioning activities, assisting with the resolution of engineering issues as required.
  • Support the coordination of system commissioning, certification, operation & maintenance information, and project documentation.
  • Ensure engineering activities and project solutions comply with operational safety requirements, and the company’s and statutory HSEQ policies and regulations.
  • Support change & variation management by identifying and communicating technical changes that may affect project scope, cost, programme or performance.
  • Engage in the overriding philosophy of Standardisation & Productisation throughout the project lifecycle, identifying opportunities to utilise and improve standard WES solutions.
  • Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to support the delivery of project milestones and ensure technical information is issued in line with programme requirements.
  • Assist with technical problem solving, investigation and resolution of project issues, applying sound engineering judgement and escalating matters where appropriate.
  • Maintain accurate project engineering records and ensure relevant technical documentation is appropriately controlled and communicated.

What Do You Need?

  • An engineering qualification or relevant experience within a mechanical, electrical, process or multidisciplinary engineering environment.
  • Experience of working with engineering drawings, specifications and technical documentation, with the ability to interpret project requirements.
  • Good time management, with the ability to multitask, plan and organise day-to-day workloads within a busy environment.
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with colleagues, clients, suppliers and other stakeholders.
  • A practical and solutions-focused approach, with an ability to learn, understand, and apply new technologies.
  • Ability to effectively prioritise and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.
  • Full UK Driving Licence
