About the Role
We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Project Engineer to support the successful delivery of rail infrastructure and technology projects. This role will work closely with the Lead Project Engineer and multidisciplinary teams to ensure engineering activities are effectively coordinated and delivered to programme, quality, and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the Lead Project Engineer in the day-to-day coordination of engineering activities across the project lifecycle
- Manage and maintain the Technical Query (TQ) register, ensuring timely responses and closure of engineering queries
- Coordinate the production of design deliverables across multiple engineering disciplines (e.g., passenger information systems, communications, control systems)
- Maintain the engineering deliverables register, tracking submission status and ensuring milestones are met
- Facilitate design review meetings, capturing actions and following through to completion
- Support document and drawing control, ensuring revisions are managed in line with project and company procedures
- Contribute to weekly and monthly engineering progress reports, providing accurate and timely updates
- Assist in procurement activities, including technical evaluations and vendor document reviews
About You
- Experience in a project engineering or coordination role, ideally within the rail or infrastructure sector
- Strong organisational and stakeholder management skills
- Familiarity with engineering document control processes and design assurance
- Ability to manage multiple workstreams and prioritise effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage across multidisciplinary teams and suppliers
Desirable
- Experience within rail systems such as communications, control, or passenger information systems
- Knowledge of industry standards and engineering lifecycle processes within rail or similar regulated environments
