About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and driven MEICA / Project Engineer to join our team delivering on a major, multi-year framework agreement with a leading water utility provider in the North West. This framework focuses on the overall management and execution of large-scale, on-site asset maintenance activities and diverse engineering services.
As a Project Engineer, you will lead the delivery of both planned and reactive project work across the region. You will be responsible for a portfolio of small capital maintenance projects, managing them from initial design through to final handover. This role requires an individual who excels at building key relationships with operational personnel and supply chain partners while fostering a strong collaborative team environment.
Key Responsibilities
- End-to-End Delivery: Provide whole-life oversight and accountability for the successful completion of maintenance projects and services (encompassing design, procurement, assembly, commissioning, and handover).
- Supply Chain Management: Ensure the supply chain remains fully compliant with the framework management plan.
- Health & Safety: Actively drive a robust safety culture to ensure Zero LTI (Lost Time Injuries) and RIDDOR incidents.
- Commercial Focus: Maintain a strong commercial mindset, bringing a high level of challenge to project scopes and selecting the most efficient delivery strategies.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Ensure all internal and external stakeholders are engaged, informed, and supportive of projects and their potential impacts.
- Reporting & Risk Management: Provide consistent, reliable reporting of project/service performance into management systems, ensuring key risks are identified early and mitigated effectively.
Knowledge, Skills, and Experience
- Industry Experience: Proven track record of managing multidisciplinary projects, including Civils and MEICA (ideally within the water sector).
- Project Delivery: Strong history of successfully delivering project programmes on time and within scope.
- Contractual Knowledge: Good understanding of standard construction forms of contract.
- Relationship Building: Ability to build trusted relationships with clients, supply chain partners, and wider internal framework teams.
- IT Literacy: High level of computer competence (MS Word, Excel, Document Control Systems, and Primavera software).
- Communication: Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
Qualifications
- HNC/HND or Degree in a relevant Engineering discipline.
- SMSTS qualification or IOSH Managing Safely.
- Valid and relevant CSCS card.
