Our client is a successful and well-established company, they are looking for a Project Engineer / Project Manager with expertise in structural repairs and/or bridge building. The role of the Project Engineer / Project Manager is to ensure the successful execution, delivery, and installation of all projects within budget, on time, and to a high degree of quality.
Salary: £40,000 - £55,000 depending on experience + Benefits
Requirements:
- Several years experience as a Project Manager / Project Engineer dealing with the project management of structural steel construction, bridge building, bridge repairs, structural maintenance or repairs.
- You drive and have your own transport.
Main Responsibilities:
- Hold handover meeting with Sales to take formal ownership of projects.
- Understand contractual obligations and identify, evaluate, and execute compensation events considering commercial, design and programme impacts.
- Commence and perform site activities in line with customer requirements.
- Perform project risk analysis, creation, and maintenance of risk register; implement mitigation measures and manage the risk accordingly.
- Identify, create, and approve project specific documentation to support delivery of work scope and produce master document register.
- Attend site as necessary to fully appreciate limitations, restrictions, access, HSE requirements, scaffolding requirements etc.
- Obtain documentation from the customer (drawings, layouts, specifications, programme, RAMS, etc.), and from suppliers (COSSH sheets, RAMS, drawings etc.).
- Ensure qualified, competent, and experienced workforce is available to attend site to perform contracted work scope: site installation of temporary works, permanent equipment, and structures.
- Ensure the following is available to support site operations:
- Equipment to be installed.
- Tooling and plant hire (calibrated if applicable)
- Liaise regularly with all project stakeholders via phone calls, meetings, regular reports, conference calls, site attendance: engineering, manufacturing, and Installation Engineer to identify and manage areas of concern, progress, and challenges to ensure successful and timely resolution of issues.
- Attend, participate, and chair weekly project progress meetings and daily maintenance of project action tracker spreadsheet
- Create, maintain, and manage project performance against milestone dates and KPIs and ensure deadlines are met.
- Identify and resolve technical issues relating to challenging projects with support from relevant departments.
- Achieve successful handover completion and secure sign off certificate
- Perform lessons learned exercise and agree and implement preventive measures for future bids and projects.
- Manage customer expectations to promote repeat business through developing working relationships, regular communication with all internal and external project stake holders
- Support other members of the team as required.
