ISQ Recruitment is recruiting a Project Engineer – Device Development for a specialist medical device business in West Norfolk. This role offers the opportunity to take ownership of engineering workstreams across technically demanding development programmes, while remaining closely involved in engineering, problem solving and product delivery.
About the role Reporting to the Head of Programmes, you will work across medical device and combination-product development projects, helping progress products from development through verification, industrialisation and manufacturing transfer.
You will coordinate technical activities across engineering, quality, suppliers and manufacturing, while taking responsibility for your own workstreams, actions and deliverables.
The position keeps you close to the technical work. Depending on the project, this may include engineering builds, verification and qualification activity, design transfer, manufacturing readiness, technical investigations and development documentation.
Occasional international travel may be required.
Key duties
- Take ownership of assigned engineering workstreams and technical deliverables
- Coordinate activities across engineering, quality, suppliers and manufacturing
- Support product development, NPI, verification and qualification activities
- Contribute to industrialisation, design transfer and manufacturing readiness
- Identify and help resolve technical and project delivery issues
- Support engineering builds, technical reviews and root-cause investigations
- Produce and maintain development documentation
- Track actions, priorities, risks and project progress
- Work with external suppliers and manufacturing partners where required
You should have:
- Engineering experience within medical devices, diagnostics, pharmaceutical, combination products or a closely related life-science technology
- Practical involvement in product development, NPI, industrialisation, verification, validation or design transfer
- Experience taking ownership of technical activities or engineering workstreams
- Strong technical problem-solving skills
- Experience working across multidisciplinary engineering, quality and manufacturing teams
- Confidence managing actions, priorities and technical deliverables
- Experience producing or working with controlled engineering and development documentation
