Project Engineer Job Overview
The Project Engineer will take responsibility for managing a diverse range of bespoke engineering projects from concept through to delivery. This is a hands-on technical role requiring a solid background in heavy engineering, welding standards, and European quality requirements, combined with proven project management capability.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead engineering projects from design through to manufacture, installation, and commissioning.
- Act as the technical liaison between clients, design, fabrication, and site teams.
- Ensure compliance with ISO quality management systems, welding standards, and relevant European directives.
- Prepare and manage project documentation including quality plans, welding procedure specifications, and inspection/test records.
- Develop and control project schedules, budgets, risk assessments, and resource allocation.
- Provide technical expertise to resolve challenges during design and fabrication.
- Drive continuous improvement in processes, standards, and customer delivery.
Project Engineer Job Requirements
- Degree or equivalent in an engineering discipline (mechanical, manufacturing, or related).
- Strong technical background in heavy engineering with exposure to bespoke, non-repetitive projects.
- In-depth knowledge of welding standards (MIG, TIG, ARC) and European/ISO engineering standards.
- Experience in creating and managing quality documentation within engineering/manufacturing environments.
- Proven project management experience, delivering complex engineered solutions.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work with customers and cross-functional teams.
