Due to continued growth and a large order book, Hales Group are recruiting on behalf of their client for a hands-on Project Engineer with a strong mechanical/electrical background in design for machine and systems to join a welcoming and friendly team. Electronic knowledge of PLC’s and HMI’s would also benefit you for this position. This is a fantastic opportunity to work for a forward thinking, prestigious organisation.
 
Hours
 
9.00 – 5.00 Monday – Friday (1/2-hour unpaid break) = 37.5-hour week
 
Salary
 
£40,000 - £45,000 Per annum, depending on experience and skills
 
Role and Responsibilities
 

  • Detailed design of Mechanical Test Rig machines and Sub-Assemblies used within the aviation industry.
  • Producing control / electrical systems, selection of components, generation of schematics, BOM’s and project documentation.
  • Direct involvement in machine and control panel design, development, testing, calibration and release to production.
  • Project life cycle management within the company.
  • On-site commissioning of Machines and Test Rigs at customer sites.
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a small team.
  • Work within the requirements of the company’s Quality, Health, Safety and Environmental Policies.
  • Always promoting safety and continuous improvement within the production facility.
  • Technical support and collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Periodic travel to customers for onsite service and support.
 
Skills / Qualifications / Experience
 
  • Qualified to HNC, HND or hold a degree in Mechanical Engineering (essential)
  • Proficient in 3D CAD (Auto Cad / Fusion 360) with experience designing for manufacture (essential)
  • Hands-on Experience in a manufacturing environment of machine assembly and testing (essential).
  • Knowledge of PLC / Software programming or willingness to learn and evolve.
  • Good understanding of electrical, pneumatic system design and assembly.
  • Electrical test & commissioning experience.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Computer literacy, maintaining records and following procedures.
  • Confident communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Problem solving skills
  • Clean UK driving licence
