Job Title: Project Engineer
Location: Bridgnorth
Salary: £48,000 - £50,000 per annum
Hours: 36.25 hours per week (with Flexi-Time)
Holidays: 33 days per year (including public holidays)
Shift Pattern: Full-time, on-site with occasional travel as required
Project Engineer Role Overview:
We are looking for a driven Project Engineer to manage capital projects, from concept to completion, ensuring quality, safety, and compliance. With a focus on mechanical systems and installations, you''ll drive key projects and support the operations team. Project Engineer Responsibilities:Project Execution
- Lead the planning, design, procurement, and installation of CAPEX projects
- Manage technical issues throughout the project lifecycle, ensuring projects are completed on time and within budget
- Coordinate with internal teams and external suppliers, ensuring all deliverables are met
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental (HSE) requirements throughout the project
- Provide technical support to the maintenance team and ensure smooth project handover
- Organise and lead training for operational staff and apprentices
- Oversee Final Acceptance Testing (FAT) and ensure all necessary documentation is completed
- Prepare regular project progress reports and cost reports
- Ensure accurate records of technical documentation, drawings, and supplier agreements
- Monitor project KPIs (e.g., CAPEX spend, timeline compliance, FAT performance)
- Adhere to internal HSE policies and procedures
- Review and issue work permits, ensuring compliance with safety standards
- Identify and act on areas for improvement in safety or risk management
Project Engineer Specification:Essential:
- Bachelor''s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline
- Experience in project management, machinery installation, and commissioning
- Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, utilities, and safety regulations (incl. CDM)
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Experience managing suppliers and contractors in project environments
- Chartered Engineer (CEng) or working towards
- Familiarity with Lean, Six Sigma, or Agile project methodologies
- Knowledge of CAD software and project planning tools (e.g., MS Project)
- Experience working with Prince2 or similar project management frameworks
