      <description>Location: Swansea | Salary: Negotiable | Type: Contract | **Project Engineer – Substation (Protection &amp; Control) Swansea North | £70/hr Umbrella | Inside IR35 | May Start**  Carmichael UK is recruiting for an experienced  Project Engineer  to support internal panel modification works at  Swansea North Substation . This role is ideal for an engineer with strong protection &amp; control experience and previous exposure to National Grid sites.  Key Responsibilities  	 Oversee wiremen conducting internal panel installation and modification works. 	 Ensure all works strictly follow technical drawings, wiring diagrams, and protection &amp; control schemes. 	 Attend pre-site planning meetings during April. 	 Coordinate daily activities, maintain site compliance, and ensure safe delivery of works. 	 Support testing, commissioning readiness, and quality assurance activities.   Technical Requirements  	 Strong understanding of  protection &amp; control systems . 	 Ability to read and interpret  wiring diagrams and electrical schemes . 	 Experience supervising or managing wiremen on substation projects.   Experience &amp; Qualifications  	  National Grid site experience is essential.
