Project Director

Our client, a leading technical services provider in the construction and energy sectors, is seeking a Project Director to lead complex M&E, electrical, infrastructure and decarbonisation programmes across the Northern region. This permanent senior leadership role offers the opportunity to manage major client programmes, build lasting partnerships and support the UK''s transition to a lower-carbon future.

• Take strategic and operational accountability for programme or portfolio performance across cost, time, quality, safety and customer expectations
• Lead projects from early design development through construction, commissioning, measurement and verification, and handover
• Develop programme strategies, manage inter-project dependencies and maintain effective governance across commercial, financial, operational, risk and QSHE performance
• Act as the senior point of contact for clients, chairing project boards and representing the business at senior steering groups
• Provide direction to Project Managers, Site Managers, multidisciplinary teams and third-party contractors
• Support commercial negotiations, change management, contract amendments, risk allocation, bids and mobilisation
• Promote safety, wellbeing, inclusion, continuous improvement, innovation and sustainable delivery
• Identify opportunities, efficiencies and improvements that support client relationships and business growth

• Significant experience leading complex engineering, construction, energy or energy performance contracting projects and portfolios
• Strong knowledge of M&E and electrical project delivery within construction or infrastructure environments
• Strong commercial awareness, including financial management, governance and performance responsibility
• Experience managing multidisciplinary teams, supply chain partners and third-party contractors
• Knowledge of NEC and JCT contracts, with confidence supporting commercial negotiations and change control
• Understanding of the full EPC project lifecycle, including design, construction, commissioning and measurement and verification
• Proven ability to build trusted relationships and influence senior internal and external stakeholders
• Experience implementing governance, systems and processes within a growing or changing business
• Passion for Net Zero, sustainability, energy efficiency and carbon reduction projects
• Engineering or construction-related degree and APM qualification would be advantageous
• Eligibility to live and work in the UK and a full, valid UK driving licence
