Project Design Manager - Civil Engineering

Overview

Our Energy Division is growing and we are recruiting for a Project Manager with a background in the successful delivery of large Civil Engineering contracts, to join a site-based team on a large heavy civil engineering project near Chelmsford in Essex. Works comprise RC structures, earthworks, drainage and integration with MandE installations. This is a large design and build project, currently in the early stages and due for completion in 2027. Reporting to the Contracts Manager.Responsibilities

Responsible for project managing the design and build of a large civil engineering contractWork closely with the SHEQ team to ensure the safe delivery of works, address environmental issues and ensure qualityManage and support the Site Manager and work closely with the commercial team, designers, planners and site teamsSubcontract managementClient interface; attend regular meetings with the client and report on design and project completion timelinesProvide effective monthly reporting to the Contracts ManagerTake responsibility for the programmesQualifications

Civil Engineering background (either degree qualified or by experience)A background of delivering National Grid projects would be advantageousSMSTSCSCSFirst AidAbout the employer
