Job Description: Estimating ManagerAt Telent, you will have the opportunity to be part of something bigger—keeping things moving and connecting people. Join us to help keep the nation''s critical networks connected and protected 24/7.Reporting to the Director of Rail, the Estimating Manager will ensure accurate and competitive cost estimates for new projects within the designated sector. You will collaborate closely with project management and engineering teams to ensure all project aspects are accurately considered and costed.This is a hybrid role, requiring occasional presence at our Warwick Head Office.Responsibilities include:Supporting the production and submission of accurate, comprehensive estimates in a timely manner.Managing the estimating process at bid, project, or scheme level.Challenging cost estimates produced by SMEs in Delivery and Engineering.Reviewing project specifications, drawings, and documentation to prepare detailed cost estimates.Minimizing selling costs and response times through standard processes and pricing tools.Preparing and presenting detailed cost breakdowns and pricing proposals.Collaborating with project managers and engineers to develop project plans and schedules.Participating in pre-bid meetings and site visits to gather necessary information.Candidate Profile:You should have proven experience in a similar estimating role, with strong skills in cost modeling and analysis. As an expert in Excel, you will combine technical proficiency with excellent stakeholder management and communication skills to facilitate accurate decision-making.Key Requirements:Experience in Transport, Utilities, Telecoms, Construction, or similar industries, providing estimating services in large projects or multiple workstreams.Expertise in Excel.Excellent mathematical abilities.Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills across office, site, and client/sub-contractor environments.Full clean driving license with flexibility to be at HQ as needed.What We Offer:A career at Telent offers opportunities across sectors, roles, and technologies, fostering skill development and impactful work.
