We currently have an opportunity for a Project Controls Manager to join our engineering team. This position will suit a committed and ambitious Project Controls Manager who can demonstrate strong leadership and interpersonal skills combined with commercial awareness and the ability to contribute to growing a dynamic high-performance team. With a focus on the design of High-Speed rail infrastructure, the post-holder will interact around the UK and overseas and will be part of a growing team of UK management staff delivering projects for a diverse portfolio of UK clients.The Project Controls Manager will be accountable for the delivery of the programme controls on a project, ensuring:Responsibilities
Experience in Primavera and has managed large teams within a busy environmentExperience in Cost/ Programme Management and reportingIdentifying, analysing and delivering solutions for the client and project teamRobust, accurate reporting both internally and externallyGood relationships are maintained with all external parties to enhance the reputation of the companyMission/Main Duties:Working in collaboration with our designers and contract partners, the Project Controls Manager will be involved in a variety of tasks such as:Building relationships with limited set of common clients and maintain regular client contactRepresent Project Controls, attend and lead client progress meetingsProducing compliant programmes that are logically robust, cost and resource loaded and cover the full scope of work across all stages of the projectProvision of project performance data, project schedules and reports in a concise and timely mannerEnsure all planning processes and procedures are fully implemented on the projectIdentify project risks, deviations and slippages; reports and communicates issues to senior members of the Project Controls and Project Management teamUnderstand the workload, prioritising and allocating workCheck programme achievements and provide constructive feedback, leadership and managementAnalyse current and future workloads to ensure Planning commitments can be achievedUnderstanding various forms of contractConduct Risk workshops and undertake Schedule Risk analysis, present resultsEnsure Earned Value Management processes are followed data analysis and trend analysisProvide regular supervision to members of the Project Controls team as requiredExperience/Skills
Member of APM (Desirable)Degree qualified in Relevant Industry SubjectExperienced based skills in managing programmes and cost within major infrastructure projectsCompetent User of PrimaveraUnderstanding of multi-disciplinary co-ordination across major infrastructure projects and global design teamsDevelopment of innovative programming and reporting solutionsSupervision / personal development of team membersSkills
The ability to lead and develop project controls staff, both planning and costUnderstanding of co-ordination across infrastructure projects and global design teamsExcellent analytical and problem-solving skillsFamiliar with cost processes, including performance management and forecastingMust be able to demonstrate the ability to produce Programmes and associated reportsWorking knowledge of Primavera and associated Risk Analysis toolsWorking knowledge of all PC based Windows environments and Microsoft Office suiteReport writing / presentation creationCivils design understanding would be an ..... full job details .....
