We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Project Controls Lead to join our client''s Project Management Office (PMO). The role will focus on delivering project control services for MOD New Works, including ensuring adherence to delivery processes, managing workflows, and integrating the Power BI dashboard into business-as-usual operations.

This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the successful delivery of complex projects in support of the UK submarine programme, working as part of a highly capable and collaborative team.

The role is best suited to candidates with experience in scheduling, project controls, or project management, alongside strong skills in performance reporting and stakeholder engagement.






Responsibilities

  • Covering a wide range of projects, the successful candidate will be responsible for providing professional Project Controls management services across the MOD Works Team. The role will act as a key interface between project managers, commercial, engineering, construction, subcontractors, and supply chain functions to ensure effective project scheduling and delivery.
  • Leading a programmatic approach to project controls and providing tactical scheduling of live projects.
  • Supporting the implementation and advancement of Infrastructure strategic objectives.
  • Assisting the Head of Department with planning activities and providing accurate project status data.
  • Preparing and delivering schedule-driven reports and documentation for internal and external stakeholders, including cost, risk, estimating, and change data.
  • Ensuring alignment of project cost data with scheduling tools (e.g., Primavera P6).
  • Supporting the development of annual spend projections, critical path management, and cost/schedule variance analyses.
  • Overseeing performance reporting and contributing to delivery assurance activities.
  • Managing stakeholder engagement to ensure clear communication and alignment.
  • Driving continuous improvement across the programme





Qualifications

  • Level 3 qualification in a STEM subject (e.g., A-Levels, BTEC, NVQ) or relevant production, engineering, or project experience (preferred but not essential).
  • APM PFQ or experience working in a project environment (advantageous).





Essential skills

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Visio)
  • Primavera P6
  • MS Project
  • MS Power BI





Desired skills

  • APM PPC Foundation
  • APM PFQ





Experience

  • A background in Project Management and/or Scheduling; however, training and guidance will be provided as necessary to enable the development of knowledge and experience.
  • Experience in engineering or project management environments

  • The successful candidate must be a sole UK national who is able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
