Our client, a leading organisation in the Defence & Security sector, is currently seeking a Project Controller to join their team on a contract basis. The successful candidate will play a vital role in supporting the In Service Production line, with an emphasis on managing and analysing emergent work for aircraft.



Key Responsibilities:

  • Produce and maintain an operations burndown (level 3) plan aligned with the aircraft build schedule, considering factors such as labour, build logic, critical path, capacity, tooling, and material availability.
  • Assist aircraft managers in accurately forecasting the build schedule by week and by day.
  • Analyse and report daily on the completion and progress against the operations burndown plan to senior management and key stakeholders.
  • Update Aircraft Boards as necessary.
  • Support production with the accuracy of clocking data, reason codes, and other performance-related statistics.
  • Identify and document emergent work tasks, ensuring the correct paperwork is raised and maintained.
  • Maintain detailed spreadsheets recording all emergent work tasks and monitor their progress and status.
  • Interrogate SAP/MES for hours logged against emergent work tasks and investigate discrepancies.
  • Facilitate bi-weekly sign-off meetings for emergent work tasks.
  • Collaborate with the Operations Business Performance & Works Analysis team to standardise and improve In Service Support processes.
  • Ensure all processes are accurately documented within the departmental instructions.


Job Requirements:

  • Experience in project controls within the manufacturing sector.
  • Strong knowledge of production planning processes, particularly in the aerospace or defence industries.
  • Proficiency in using planning and project management tools such as SAP and MES.
  • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to produce and interpret complex data reports.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills to effectively liaise with aircraft managers and stakeholders.
  • A proactive and detail-oriented approach to work.
