Project Controls Manager
to lead the planning, scheduling, cost control, and reporting functions for a major UK nuclear project. The role is critical in ensuring effective project governance, compliance with UK nuclear regulations, and delivery to time, cost, quality, and safety objectives.Responsibilities
Lead and manage the
project controls function , including planning, scheduling, cost management, risk, and reporting.Develop and maintain the
integrated project control framework
in alignment with UK nuclear industry standards, NEC contract requirements, and company policies.Establish and oversee the
project baseline
(scope, schedule, and cost) and ensure robust change control processes are implemented.Manage and mentor a team of planners, cost engineers, risk analysts, and reporting specialists.Produce accurate, timely
project performance reports , including earned value analysis (EVA), forecasts, and variance analyses.Drive the use of
project management systems and tools
(e.g., Primavera P6, ARM, EcoSys, or equivalent).Work closely with project managers, engineers, commercial teams, and stakeholders to ensure alignment on project objectives.Monitor and challenge contractor schedules, cost forecasts, and risk registers to ensure realism and accountability.Support regulatory and stakeholder reporting requirements, including submissions to the Office for Nuclear Regulation (ONR) and other relevant bodies.Promote and embed a culture of
nuclear safety, compliance, and assurance
across project controls activities.Requirements
Proven experience in project controls leadership within
nuclear, defence, or other highly regulated major infrastructure projects .Strong knowledge of
UK nuclear sector regulations, governance, and assurance frameworks .Demonstrable experience with
Primavera P6
and other project controls systems.Solid understanding of
earned value management (EVM), cost forecasting, and risk management
techniques.Excellent leadership skills, with the ability to influence senior stakeholders and develop high-performing teams.Degree in engineering, project management, or related discipline (or equivalent experience).Professional membership/accreditation (APM, PMI, or equivalent) preferred.Active or eligible for
UK security clearance .Seniority level
