About the role

We are currently seeking a Programme Manager in Engineering to join our Engineering department at The Bedford College Group.As a Programme Manager, you play an important role in the success of our students through:

Curriculum Leadership

- Lead the development and delivery of engineering programmes that are innovative, industry-relevant, and aligned with employer needs and strategic growth priorities.

Quality and Student Outcomes

- Drive high standards in teaching, learning, and assessment to ensure student success, progression, and achievement exceed national benchmarks.

Team and Resource Management

- Manage engineering curriculum staff, oversee recruitment and development, and ensure consistent application of college policies and performance standards.

Teaching and Professional Practice

- Deliver a fractional teaching timetable in engineering, maintain awarding body standards, and support continuous improvement in pedagogy and learner engagement.

College-Wide and Statutory Duties

- Contribute to cross-campus activities, uphold safeguarding, equality, health and safety, and engage in ongoing professional development to support college-wide initiatives.

About youQualifications and Industry Expertise

- Recognised teaching qualification and a degree or substantial experience in an engineering discipline, with credibility in leading subject-specific provision.

Leadership and Management Experience

- Proven success in managing teams within Further Education, including course leadership, performance monitoring, and supporting Ofsted inspections.

Curriculum and Quality Skills

- Strong understanding of quality assurance systems, data-driven course improvement, and the ability to deliver high-quality learning experiences across engineering levels.

Professional and Interpersonal Skills

- Effective communicator and team collaborator with the ability to motivate staff, influence at all levels, and maintain professional standards and boundaries.

Commitment and Flexibility

- Willingness to travel across campuses, adapt working hours, uphold safeguarding and health and safety responsibilities, and engage in continuous professional development.
