We are currently recruiting on behalf of a leading defence businessfor the role of
Programme Manager . This is a rare opportunity to lead a portfolio of cutting-edge (and highly confidential) technology projects within the defence sector.Location:
Surrey - 3 days per weekSalary range:
£90,000 - £110,000Clearance:
You must hold active SC clearanceKey Responsibilities:Programme Leadership:
Oversee the full lifecycle of technology programmes, ensuring alignment with business objectives and client requirements.Strategic Planning:
Define and deliver programme plans covering scope, schedule, budget, and resources.Stakeholder Engagement:
Build strong relationships with clients, senior leadership, partners, and internal teams to ensure alignment and collaboration.Risk Management:
Proactively identify risks and implement effective mitigation strategies to safeguard programme success.Performance Tracking:
Monitor progress against KPIs, providing regular status reports and updates to stakeholders.Team Leadership:
Direct cross-functional teams across engineering, procurement, finance, and other functions, promoting effective collaboration. Provide mentorship and support to Programme and Project teams.Compliance:
Ensure all activities meet relevant standards, regulations, and security protocols, including ITAR and export control requirements where applicable.Continuous Improvement:
Drive enhancements in processes, tools, and methodologies to improve efficiency, quality, and outcomes.Requirements:At least 5 years’ experience in programme and project management within the defence technology sector.Strong knowledge of defence digital technologies, regulatory frameworks, and procurement processes.Experience working with emerging and cutting-edge technologies.Proven leadership skills with excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.Proficiency with project management practices and tools, holding certifications such as Agile, PRINCE2, or APMP.In-depth understanding of Portfolio, Programme, and Project Management (P3M).Demonstrated ability to manage multiple complex programmes/projects simultaneously while balancing competing priorities.Experience managing budgets and providing financial oversight.Active SC security clearance.For further information on this Programme Manager position, apply below!We are an equal opportunity employer and value diversity at our company.
