We are seeking a Professional Technical Author with a strong engineering background to support mission-critical projects at AWE. Working within a secure, regulated nuclear environment, you''ll play a key role in developing and maintaining technical documentation that underpins the safe and compliant operation of complex process, tooling, and equipment systems.
This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the UK''s most sensitive infrastructure programmes while operating at the cutting edge of technical standards and systems engineering.
Role Overview
- Develop and manage high-quality technical documentation across the lifecycle of manufacturing systems
- Ensure designs, tooling, and processes are safe, cost-effective, maintainable, and compliant with legislative and PLM requirements
- Underwrite and support the technical accuracy of tooling and equipment documentation within your area of responsibility
- Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams in a highly regulated, secure environment
Key Requirements
- Degree in a STEM discipline (Engineering, Physics, etc.)
- Experience working in a nuclear safety-regulated environment
- Familiarity with nuclear safety principles in accordance with DSA03-DNSR
- Strong understanding of FMEA and quality tools such as SPC
- Basic working knowledge of NX, Teamcenter (TCE), and Primavera P6
- Proven ability to work with Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) tools including:
- Sparx Systems Enterprise Architect
- IBM DOORS
Contract Details
- Location: On-site at AWE (secure access required)
- Rate: -60/hour (via umbrella or limited company, subject to clearance and vetting)
- Security Clearance: Must hold or be eligible for SC (or higher) clearance
- Duration: Long-term contract, full-time hours
