Production/Forklift Operative

Role: Warehouse Forklift Operative
Pay Rate: -13.00 per hour
Reporting to: Warehouse Supervisor / Production Manager
Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Warehouse Forklift Operative to join our client''s team. The role involves operating a forklift truck to safely load, unload, move, and store goods within the warehouse. You will also be responsible for stock checks, order picking, and maintaining a clean, safe, and organised working environment.
Key Responsibilities

• 
  Safely load and unload deliveries using a forklift truck and move stock to designated storage locations
• 
  Receive and inspect goods, checking for damage or discrepancies against delivery documents
• 
  Accurately store stock, participate in regular stock counts, and maintain correct inventory levels
• 
  Pick and prepare orders for dispatch, ensuring all documentation and labelling is accurate
• 
  Complete required paperwork and basic data entry (Excel) accurately and on time
• 
  Maintain high standards of cleanliness, adopting a "clean as you go" approach and following health & safety procedures
• 
  Minimise waste while maintaining quality standards
• 
  Work effectively as part of a team, supporting colleagues and the production department when required
• 
  Proactively identify opportunities to improve efficiency
• 
  Carry out any reasonable tasks requested by management

Skills & Experience Required

• 
  Valid Flexi Forklift Truck Licence (essential)
• 
  Previous warehouse experience (ideally food production or FMCG environment)
• 
  Ability to complete manual handling tasks safely
• 
  Good communication skills (written and verbal) and basic numeracy for reporting
• 
  Basic computer literacy (Excel/data entry)
• 
  Food Safety Level 2 and Allergen training (desirable)
• 
  Health & Safety Level 2 qualification (desirable)
