Straight-line are currently looking for an experienced Production Welder to join a growing manufacturing team.

This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled welder who takes pride in producing high-quality work while maintaining productivity and safety standards in a fast-paced production environment.

As part of the welding team, you will be responsible for carrying out manual welding operations to coded standards, ensuring all work meets visual inspection and quality requirements. You will play a key role in delivering production targets while supporting continuous improvement initiatives across the business.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform manual welding to approved specifications and quality standards.
  • Ensure all welds meet visual inspection requirements and customer expectations.
  • Achieve production targets and takt times while maintaining a high level of workmanship.
  • Set up, operate, and monitor welding equipment safely and efficiently.
  • Load and unload materials using appropriate lifting equipment where required.
  • Operate robotic welding systems, including collaborative robots (COBOTs), when necessary.
  • Carry out routine checks on welding equipment and local exhaust ventilation (LEV) systems.
  • Support production flow by identifying and reporting equipment issues, material shortages, or quality concerns.
  • Complete production records and documentation accurately.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues and provide support across departments when required.

What We're Looking For

  • Previous experience in a production welding or manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to weld to coded standards with a strong focus on quality.
  • Knowledge of welding inspection requirements and production processes.
  • Experience using robotic welding equipment would be advantageous.
  • Good understanding of workplace health and safety practices.
  • Positive attitude with a willingness to learn and participate in ongoing training.
  • Strong team player with excellent attention to detail.

Additional Responsibilities

  • Maintain a clean, organised work area in line with 5S principles.
  • Promote and support best practices throughout the manufacturing process.
  • Report material shortages through established Kanban procedures.
  • Identify and report non-conformances and quality issues.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement projects and team initiatives.
  • Help maintain a safe working environment for yourself and your colleagues.
