Production Welder

Job Title: Production Operative / Welder (Rebar)

Location: Oldbury (B69)

Rate: -13.00 - -13.50 per hour

Shift: Monday - Thursday (07:30 - 15:30), Friday (07:30 - 14:30)

Temp to Perm after 12 weeks

Contek Recruitment Solutions are working with a client that specialises in steel reinforcement, fabrication, engineering products and the supply of construction-related accessories.

We are looking for a Production Operative to assist with the assembly and fabrication of these units. This is a full-time, temp to perm role involving manual handling and basic welding, ensuring the quality assembly of materials for production.

Additional responsibilities include operating tools and machinery, maintaining a safe and organised work environment, and collaborating with team members to meet production deadlines efficiently.

Key Responsibilities

• Drawing Interpretation: Reading technical drawings to determine the number of bars and links required for each cage.
• Marking Out: Measuring and marking the precise positions for links and bars.
• Welding: Welding the steel components together
• Assembly: Manual assembly of steel reinforcement cages and accessories.
• General Labour: Operating basic tools and machinery while maintaining a safe and organised workspace.

Requirements

• Welding: Basic MIG or MAG welding experience is essential.
• Accuracy: Ability to follow instructions and read production drawings accurately.
• Environment: Prior experience in a fabrication, steel, or heavy production environment is preferred.
• Reliability: A strong work ethic and the ability to work effectively within a team to meet deadlines.
