About the Role
Reporting to the Production Manager, the Production Supervisor at Witney will oversee an assembly environment manufacturing lights for aerospace, maritime and contract sectors. This permanent post, paying £31,000 to £35,000 annually, suits someone who leads from the floor and maintains tight standards. Duties include ensuring traceability throughout manufacture, driving daily compliance with safety protocols, and training, mentoring and motivating staff on equipment use and assembly methods. The role also involves supporting troubleshooting of mechanical issues and upholding consistent adherence to procedures. Working pattern is full time, based on site. My Client, a specialist manufacturing business designing and building lights for Aerospace, Maritime and contract markets, is expanding and hiring a Production Supervisor to help keep production running smoothly. This is a new role reporting directly to the Production Manager-ideal if you enjoy leading from the floor, keeping standards tight, and supporting a team to deliver efficient, high-quality output.
What you''ll be doing:
* Oversee the assembly environment to support efficient manufacture and consistent adherence to procedures
* Ensure traceability throughout the manufacturing process
* Drive day-to-day compliance with safety protocols and operational standards
* Train, mentor and motivate team members on equipment usage and assembly procedures
* Support troubleshooting of mechanical issues with manufacturing equipment, and coordinate repairs when needed
* Help implement process improvements to enhance productivity and quality
What you''ll bring:
* Proven experience working in a manufacturing setting, with ISO 9001 knowledge
(ideally within a regulated market)
* Supervisory experience of 3 years and manufacturing experience of 2 years
* Strong leadership and mentoring skills, with the ability to motivate a team effectively
* Excellent communication skills and a genuine team-player mindset
* Confidence working in a fast-paced environment while maintaining strong attention to detail
* Familiarity with manufacturing safety and compliance expectations
* Strong problem-solving ability, including hands-on mechanical troubleshooting support
Additional information:
* Full-time, permanent position, 41.5 hours per week
* Salary: £31,000-£35,000 per year depending on experience
* Hours: Monday - Thursday 8.00am - 5pm with a 4pm finish on a Friday
